  • Imaginative Narrative Composition - Fractured Fairytale:

*Prompt:
Goldilocks who destroyed a chair that was not her own, ate someone else’s porridge, and slept in a bed that was not hers has always been thought of as disrespectful and bratty.
However, was she really bad,or just misunderstood?
Using a well-known fairytale, create your own fractured fairy tale by changing the original story.
You must change one of the following aspects of the story:
the point of view, setting, plot or time frame.

In your fairytale, be sure to include:
-Descriptive details and sensory language
- A beginning, middle, and end
- Transitional phrases
- Be creative and have fun!

Goldilocks and the Curse

  • Personal Reflection/Thoughts:
As we have come to learn in our EDUC.355 class, a 21st Century Teacher possesses some of the following traits:
• Leader
• Content specialist
• Learning specialist
• Relationship builder
• Self-directed responsible worker
• Creative/Innovative thinker
• Also….
o Literate consumer of media
o Curious researcher
o Capable technology user

---This project pushed me towards exploring some of these traits, especially those focused on technology & creativity. I believe that in this current technology driven society it is important to be aware of the many technologies available to us. We can bring them into our classroom and enrich our curriculum further.

---Students need a curriculum that is challenging, relevant, integrative, and exploratory, and technology allows us to take curriculum to that level. For example the voice-thread is a perfect tool for my future middle school class. They can use it for imaginative writing, other forms of writing (informative & argumentative) and with other content areas. Technology is a tool that will help me build activities that meet my middle-school student’s different developmental needs.

---This project definitely has pushed me explore my creative side and think outside the box. The project taught me that there are new and innovative ways for my students to meet their learning objectives… I guess I can say, “In the end it’s not “how” you meet the objectives, but that you meet them…” and for a middle school student in the 21st century it definitely has to incorporate technology & creativity.
